Opening of a competitive procedure prior to the election of the director of the D. João II Secondary School, Setúbal, for the four-year period 2026-2030.

It was published in the Official Gazette. Notice No. 7743/2026/02which determines the opening of the competitive procedure prior to the election of the Director of D. João II Secondary School, Setúbal.

In accordance with the provisions of Decree-Law No. 75/2008, of April 22, as amended by Decree-Law No. 137/2012, of July 2, and other applicable legislation, it is hereby announced that the competitive procedure prior to the election of the Director of the D. João II Secondary School, Setúbal, is open. ten working days deadline, starting from the day following the publication of this Notice in the Official Gazette.

Requirements and application process

Applications must be formalized by means of a request, in its own model, made available in administrative services and in website of the D. João II Secondary School, Setúbal.

The request should be addressed to the President of the General Council of the School. Applications can be submitted in person., in a sealed envelope, in the administrative services of the School, during business hours; by email (cgeral25-29@djoaoii.com) or sent by registered mail with acknowledgment of receipt (postal dispatch date) to Escola Secundária D. João II, located at Rua Dr. Luís Teixeira de Macedo e Castro, 2910-514 Setúbal, by the deadline set for their submission.

O application form for a competition, pursuant to Articles 22-A and 22-B of Decree-Law No. 75/2008, of April 22, and as amended by Decree-Law No. 137/2012, of July 2, It must be accompanied by the following documentation, under penalty of exclusion.:

    • Letter of Motivation;
    • Curriculum vitae detailed and up-to-date, containing all relevant information and accompanied by documentary proof thereof;
    • Intervention Project 2026-2030 to the D. João II Secondary School, Setúbal, containing the identification of weaknesses/challenges, the definition of the mission, the goals and guidelines for action, as well as the explanation of the strategic plan to be carried out during the term;
    • Authenticated statement from the originating service., which includes the category, the employment status, and the length of service;
    • Certified photocopy of supporting document of academic qualifications;
    • Certified photocopy of professional training certificates;
    • Photocopy authenticated proof of qualification document for the exercising the functions of school administration and management., in accordance with points b) and c) of paragraph 1 of article 56 of the ECD, accredited by the Scientific Pedagogical Council for Continuing Education; Notice no. 7743/2026/2 1/3 2nd series No. 67 07-04-2026;
    • Declaration of absence of a sanction exceeding a fine resulting from the initiation of disciplinary proceedings., in accordance with the current law, issued by the administrative services of the originating service.
    • Certified photocopy or original from the Criminal Record for the purposes for which it is intended.

     

    Candidates may also indicate any other elements, duly proven, that they consider relevant for the assessment of their merit.

Evaluation of applications

The methodology to be used in evaluating applications is:

  • Curriculum evaluation, considering:
    • Merit is measured by academic degree and grades achieved;
    • Relevance of the school administration and management activities carried out and, in addition, of other elements, such as: reflections, published works or articles, public presentations, other interventions or projects involving the educational and societal community.
  • Evaluation of the School Intervention Project, considering:
    • Knowledge of the reality of the D. João II Secondary School, Setúbal;
    • Knowledge of educational policies and their problems;
    • Relevance of the intervention strategies presented and adequacy of the procedures for their implementation;
    • Innovation, feasibility, and scope of the project;
    • Guidance on the principles of effectiveness, efficiency, and quality in the provision of public education services;
    • Structure and organization of content, discursive coherence and cohesion, linguistic correctness.
  • Evaluation of the individual interview, considering:
    • Professional Skills:
      1. Professional interests and motivations;
      2. Ability to explain and elaborate on the information presented in the Intervention Project;
      3. The ability to build relationships and involve members of the educational community in defining the mission, objectives, and strategies;
      4. Knowledge of the nature of the functions to be performed and the constraints of the intervention;
      5. Management and leadership skills;
      6. Knowledge of the Educational Project of the D. João II Secondary School, Setúbal, and its historical background.
    • Personal Skills:
      1. Communicative competence, demonstrating correct vocabulary and clear and precise expression;
      2. Assertiveness in presenting and defending the solutions and strategies presented;

The Intervention Project should not exceed 20 pages, and should be written in Arial 12 font, 1.5 line spacing, and may be supplemented with annexes considered relevant by the applicant.

The list of candidates excluded from the competition, along with the corresponding criteria as stated in the exclusion notices, will be kept available at the school's administrative offices for consultation by interested parties.
