AGSAND, IP, to thesome competepowers of the defunct Institute of Financial Management of Education, IP.

The Agency for the Management of the Education System, IP., assumes, from March 1, 2026, the powers previously assigned to IGeFE – Institute for Financial Management of Education, IP., following the conclusion of the process to decommission this organization.

The extinction of IGeFE, IP., This falls within the process of reorganizing the Public Administration and reforming the Education sector, as established in Order No. 919-A/2026, published in the Official Gazette on January 27th.

AGSE, IP, succeeds to the duties and powers, as well as the rights, obligations and contractual positions of IGeFE, IP – as defined in Decree-Law No. 99/2025. Decree-Law No. 99/2025 Except for matters related to the centralized management of the processing of salaries and allowances due to employees of the bodies, services and agencies of the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation (MECI), including teaching and technical staff of schools, and the acquisition of goods and services that are not specific to the activity of the MECI, which are transferred to ESPAP, IP.

The assumption of functions by AGSE, IP., ensures the continuity of services and Ongoing procedures are underway, aiming to ensure a more integrated and less bureaucratic management model.
